Social media marketing is becoming a big deal in the advertising industry. Social Media Advertising spending is projected to reach 12 Billion dollars in North America only. Small businesses and non-profit organizations can take advantage of SMO at the lowest budget. The type social media channel used may be different from business to business, but, every business has the opportunity of promoting its products and services even at a fast pace than on company website. The social media is nothing but the famous website, facebook (not just for your little daughter), myspace, yelp, digg, delicious, uTube, linkedin, that internet users traffic every minute of the day. The video or image sharing channels may not be your best fit but you may be an expert company in a niche market, you can blog about your niche expertise and drive traffic to your website. Or you company is good at producing DIY clips of videos and you can use social video channels to broadcast your tips and generate leads. What ever it is done for social media marketing it has to be optimized to be effective.
It has been a few months since I started helping small and medium size companies building and/or improving their online business (Websites) so that they stay competitive. These days regardless of the type of business you are in it is highly likely that there are some similat businsses dominating the first pages on the search engines. There is no mistry there, these businesses already knew the advantages of having a strong presence on the internet. The internet is one big marketing channel already out ranking all other marketing medias. Over 70% US population has access to the intenet and the portion of pie is increasing daily. That just means that there are more and more people spending time on line. They check their emails, blog, shop, search for info, learn online, on and on. Billions of dollars are being spent and deals are made on line every minute. All most every search starts with a key word that triggers listings of relevant web pages. The search engines such as Google and Yahoo serve this purpose. Businesses need to have their businesses online (Websites) designed, structured, build, and optimize the way search engines like it. Search Engine Optimization is the bottom line for many industries.
